Obsessively Bookish | Blogger Tag

I love to fill out questionnaires. Like LOVE. It’s a problem. One that I’ve decided to create an outlet for (hehe, outlet.. it’s in my blog name. Get it? 😀 ). That outlet shall be a bookish blog tag. I see these floating around all the time and personally love ’em. I like to participate and I like to see what different people think! So why not start another chain?

Here’s how it works:

One | Once you’ve been tagged, create a post answering the 10 questions.

Two | Include the official tag image (pictured above – save as a PNG file to keep the fancy edges)!

Three | Link back to the blogger who tagged you.

Four | Tag a few bloggers you’d like to see participate, then find a way to let them know they’ve been tagged!

Five | Tweet the link with the hashtag #obsessivelybookish so I can see it! (This step is clearly optional, but I’d really love to see your answers!)

And now to the questions! 😀

1. What is your favorite thing about reading books?

My favorite thing is the total immersion experience. You feel what the characters feel, hear (in your imagination of course) what they hear, see what they see.. You create characters in your mind. I doubt any two readers ever imagine the same hero or heroine. Reading is what you make of it. That’s pretty great.

2. Would you rather read a physical book or an ebook via kindle, nook or tablet?

I would absolutely 100% rather read a physical book. You can hold them, love them, smell them. And I don’t know about you, but when I read a book it becomes a sort of family member. I hate to get rid of books. There just isn’t that kind of love with ebooks.

3. Do you prefer paperbacks or hard covers? Why?books

I prefer to read paperbacks because they’re easier to hold and don’t hurt my tendonitis ridden hands as bad. That said, I feel a lot snazzier reading a hard cover and they tend to look prettier on my shelves. So if I’m borrowing from the library or a friend, I prefer paperback. But if I purchase a book, I’m more likely to grab the hard cover.

Or, you know, whatever BookOutlet has available.

4. What are the some books on your TBR pile?

Okay, that’s hard to narrow down. I need to finish the Razorland series, so Horde is up there. I’d like to finish reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (I’m a mere 28 pages in). I’d like to read the Sky Chasers trilogy, oh and the Secrets of Wintercraft trilogy. I should probably get on that Mortal Instruments series, not to mention finishing up Decision Points. And I can’t forget those ARCs I need to stay on top of. Yeaaaah. I’m gonna stop there.

5. What is your biggest bookish pet peeve?

I can’t stand it when people eat messy foods while reading. Do you realize the amount of crap your getting on that book? Do you know the DAMAGE YOU ARE CAUSING? DO YOU?! heh… 😀

6. Complete the sentence: You might be a bookworm if…

you have so many books and so many friends borrowing them that you had to create an off-Goodreads-site inventory to keep track. (Fun – ornotfundependingonhowyoulookatit – fact: I keep mine on Google Drive so I can access it any time.)

the-argonath7. Do you own any bookish paraphernalia?

Yes! I have book ends that look like The Argonath from Lord of the Rings, the one ring to rule them all and a mockingjay medallion on a chain. I like bookish things. I used to have action figures, t-shirts, etc. I need more of them.

8. Who is your all-time favorite couple?augustus-waters-hazel-graze

I have to be cliché here. I have to be honest and honest is cliché. My favorite couple of all time is Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace. I find the two characters relatable as individuals and perfection as a couple. There, I’ve said it. Commence judging. 😉

9. What book have you repeatedly read?

I’ve read the book To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker too many times to count. The story is grabbing, short and sweet, which makes for a great break from life whenever I need one. If you haven’t read this yet, go read it now!

10. What is your all-time favorite book or series?

Oddly enough, I’d have to say my favorite series is one that I haven’t finished or even read for several years. I adore The Ranger’s Apprentice series by John Flanagan. It’s incredible! The characters are heart warming and genuine, the action is quick and piercing and the tale is just.. flawless. I read the first five books as soon as each was published, and reread them again and again.. Then I somehow got behind… By eight books. Gollee, I need to finish that series. Add that to my TBR pile answer up there!^ 😀
