As promised, I am finally sharing with you all one of my go to desserts! It takes less than ten minutes to prepare and is so yummy it’s sure to satisfy your sweets craving. Now just so we’re all aware, this is in no way a healthy dessert. It’s sugar loaded. But it’s yummy and it’s gluten-free. So cheers for that!
Let’s get right into it!
What you need:
- 1 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine (I substitute with Earth Balance vegan butter)
- 3 tablespoon Cocoa
- dash of Salt
- 1/2 cup minimum Peanut Butter (any kind will do)
- 3 cups Oats
- 1/2 cup Milk (I substitute with original, unsweetened almond milk)
What to do:
Step one: Combine all ingredients aside from the peanut butter and oats in a pan. Stir until butter is melted and ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Bring to a good boil (as pictured right).
Step two: Once the mixture is boiling, add in a minimum of half a cup of peanut butter. I usually add peanut butter until I get bored scooping it in. Usually about a cup in total. I’m sorry, I just really love peanut butter! 😉
Step three: Let the ingredients mesh together and then leave to simmer for one minute.
Step four: Add in oats, one cup at a time, thoroughly stirring them in after each scoop. Turn off heat and let it set for 2-3 minutes to soften the oats.
Step five: Serve and enjoy!
Yes, these are basically no bake cookies that you eat before they have the chance to harden into cookies. I can’t help myself, I really love ’em hot! I hope you’ll enjoy this easy dessert as well. 😀
